Soundscape Mirage

We are a portuguese electroacoustic chamber music ensemble rooted in the tradition of classical music, dedicated to exploration and creation within the realm of contemporary music through a multifaceted aesthetic approach. The group’s work integrates a broad spectrum of influences, ranging from classical to jazz fusion, incorporating elements from Eastern musical traditions and progressive rock, articulated into a synthesis that seeks to expand the possibilities of aesthetic and musical experience in the context of contemporary creation. The artistic premise of the project is grounded in the construction of soundscapes with a strong scenic dimension, closely connected to the compositional universe of Pedro Lopes Mateus (electronics), in dialogue with the mystical, ethereal, and sensory dimension that emerges from the performance of Gaspar Macedo (piano), which constitutes a central element in the ensemble’s performative identity. The project is distinguished by its openness to experimentation and to dialogue between different musical languages. The group’s artistic identity is not confined to a single aesthetic territory, rather, it is defined through a continuous process of research and innovation, seeking to make a meaningful contribution to the development of contemporary musical creation.
